Hi, I’m Kyla. I like setting up unrealistic goals for myself because it’s so much more rewarding to write about them after I’ve crossed them off my list. I love the sound of graphite on paper and the click of fingers on a keyboard. I love to write, I love to read, and if you haven’t already guessed, I’m a bit of a nerd. And that’s a bit of an understatement. I enjoy the tacky things in life: like museums, food trucks, and chocolate. I enjoy pretending like I have important things to do and important internet friends to write to. I would like to imagine that lifetime experiences and lessons will come out of this. Somehow. I like to pretend I write about controversial and offensive topics that make conservatives’ and liberals’ keyboards sound like gunshots in the Iraq war. But I know I am safe behind this computer screen, especially when all I write about is which book I just finished and how many stars I would give it. Who knows, maybe emotions will still run high. I would like to believe that I have an interesting life. I would like to believe that you care. And I would like to believe that you’re itching to meet me and maybe have a cup of mocha with me or something. Only because mocha art is cool and maybe we could pretend they’re inkblots and blow through the froth in search of our identities. Maybe you’ll find something, but I won’t. I’ll have nothing to say, because I’ve always sounded better on paper.
